The Faculty of Finance and Accounting was established in September 2015 through the merger of two existing faculties: the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Accounting and Economics.
The Faculty maintains close cooperation with a number of key institutions, including the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, “Kapital Bank” OJSC, and other organizations. Special attention is also given to international relations, with active academic and educational partnerships maintained with institutions in Turkiye, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and other countries.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, 524 students were admitted to the Faculty, including 8 students who scored 600 or above on university entrance examinations. The highest admission score for the year 617.0 was achieved by Aykhan Karimli.
Among the newly admitted cohort, 11 students are foreign nationals.
Currently, a total of 2,043 students are enrolled at the Faculty.
